The following information outlines requirements set by the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta before dentists can offer Botox and dermal filler treatments. This page is intended as general information \u2014 it is the responsibility of each dentist to confirm current scope and practice guidelines directly with their college.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Alberta has formally approved Botox\u00ae and dermal fillers for dentists<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


In 2013, the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA) was a key province in establishing the first Standard of Practice for Facial Esthetic Therapies and Adjunctive Procedures. The Standard of Practice covers the administration of neuromodulators (Botulinum Toxin Type A), dermal fillers, and other adjunctive esthetic and therapeutic procedures. Dentists must obtain the appropriate CDSA certificate before providing any level of treatment. Providing these services without a CDSA certificate \u2014 regardless of other credentials \u2014 is not permitted and may constitute unprofessional conduct<\/p>\n\n\n\n
