Le 16 octobre 2019 Clarion Medical Technologies<\/a>, un important fournisseur canadien de mat\u00e9riel et de technologies m\u00e9dicales et esth\u00e9tiques, a annonc\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9dition du \u201c Newtox \u201d Nuceiva (prabobotulinumtoxinA) au Canada. Nuceiva est une formulation de toxine botulique de type A purifi\u00e9e de 900 kDa dont la vente a \u00e9t\u00e9 autoris\u00e9e par Sant\u00e9 Canada en ao\u00fbt 2018 pour le traitement des rides glabellaires mod\u00e9r\u00e9es \u00e0 s\u00e9v\u00e8res chez les adultes. Clarion est le seul fournisseur autoris\u00e9 de Nuceiva au Canada et est en partenariat exclusif avec Evolus, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Newport Beach, en Californie. Le produit a \u00e9t\u00e9 approuv\u00e9 par la Food and Drug Administration am\u00e9ricaine en f\u00e9vrier 2019 et lanc\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis par Evolus sous le nom de marque Jeuveau en mai 2019.<\/p>\n

Le Nuceiva \u201cNewtox\u201d est similaire \u00e0 d'autres produits \u00e0 base de toxine botulinique A. Il s'agit d'une toxine de 150 kDa dans un complexe prot\u00e9ique de 900 kDa, comme le Botox. Chaque flacon contient 100 unit\u00e9s du complexe de neurotoxine, 0,5 mg d'albumine s\u00e9rique humaine et 0,9 mg de chlorure de sodium. Il n'y a pas de conservateur.<\/p>\n

Bataille pour le lancement de Jeuveau\/Nuceiva aux \u00c9tats-Unis<\/h2>\n

Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter qu'une bataille est en cours entre Allergan et son partenaire sud-cor\u00e9en MedyTox Inc. (fabricants du Botox) et Evolus et son partenaire sud-cor\u00e9en Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. (fabricants de Jeuveau\/Nuceiva). En d\u00e9cembre 2020, Allergan a obtenu une d\u00e9cision selon laquelle le Jeuveau devrait \u00eatre interdit aux \u00c9tats-Unis, car il est fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'aide du processus secret de MedyTox qui transforme la toxine botulique mortelle en produit cosm\u00e9tique. En f\u00e9vrier 2021, \u00e0 la demande de Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. La Cour d'appel des \u00c9tats-Unis autorise le maintien de la vente de Jeuveau aux \u00c9tats-Unis<\/a> temporairement pendant qu'elle \u00e9tudie la possibilit\u00e9 de maintenir l'interdiction d'importation.<\/p>\n

Nuceiva vs Dysport : une exp\u00e9rience<\/h2>\n

En janvier 2021, PTIFAT a entrepris une petite exp\u00e9rience pour comparer les r\u00e9sultats des injections de Nuceiva par rapport \u00e0 Dysport (une autre botulinumtoxinA) dans la partie sup\u00e9rieure du visage. Dr Warren Roberts<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 l'objet de la comparaison et Dr. Jan Roberts<\/a> \u00e9tait l'injecteur. Les deux produits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reconstitu\u00e9s de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re (1 ml de solution saline conserv\u00e9e de 0,9 mg pour 1 flacon). Un produit a \u00e9t\u00e9 inject\u00e9 sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit du visage et l'autre sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 gauche.<\/p>\n

Traitement :<\/h3>\n

Au total, 30 unit\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inject\u00e9es dans la r\u00e9gion frontale, 2 unit\u00e9s dans chacun des 15 sites et 46 unit\u00e9s dans 7 sites de la glabelle. Dans l'\u00e9tude en double aveugle, ni l'injecteur ni le patient ne savaient quel produit \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9 de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9. R\u00e9sultats postop\u00e9ratoires :<\/h3>\n

Des photographies ont \u00e9t\u00e9 prises avant le traitement, puis deux semaines apr\u00e8s le traitement (voir ci-dessous). Les deux produits ont permis de r\u00e9duire \u00e0 la fois les rides glabellaires et les rides frontales. Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 gauche du front pr\u00e9sentait moins de rides d'activation que le c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit, tandis que les deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la glabelle pr\u00e9sentaient un aspect similaire. Les photographies ci-dessous illustrent les r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Conclusion :<\/h3>\n

Il s'est av\u00e9r\u00e9, apr\u00e8s l'obtention des photos finales, que le c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit avait \u00e9t\u00e9 inject\u00e9 avec Nuceiva et le c\u00f4t\u00e9 gauche avec Dysport. Il semble qu'il y ait eu une am\u00e9lioration l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus importante avec Dysport qu'avec Nuceiva dans ce cas clinique. Les docteurs Roberts pr\u00e9voient de r\u00e9aliser des exp\u00e9riences similaires dans le futur.
