Les dentistes du Québec sont maintenant autorisés à offrir des traitements au Botox

We are thrilled to share news for the dental and medical aesthetics community in Quebec: the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) has officially introduced the FETAP canadiennes, formally authorizing dentists across the province to administer Botulinum Toxin (Botox®) for both therapeutic et aesthetic purposes.

This marks a monumental moment in the profession—one that reflects over a decade of advocacy, research, and leadership to safely integrate facial injectable treatments within Montreal and Quebec dental practices under evidence-based, anatomy-driven standards.

What Does This Mean for Dentists in Quebec?

As of June 2025, licensed dentists in Montreal, Laval, Gatineau, Longueil, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Levis, Trois-Rivieres, Terrebonne and the rest of Quebec can now offer Botox® as part of their clinical services, provided they have completed a recognized, accredited training program that meets the FETAP standard. This change aligns Quebec with much of the rest of Canada, where dentists have long played a leading role in providing both aesthetic and therapeutic facial injections—especially in the treatment of bruxism, TMD, migraines, and facial pain.

Why FETAP?

Dr. Roberts was a key part of developing the original FETAP Standard of Practice, a structured standard of education and clinical competency that sets the bar for safe, ethical, and highly skilled injectable patient care. FETAP focuses on:

  • Deep anatomical understanding of the face
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning for both aesthetic and therapeutic indications
  • Expérience clinique pratique
  • Evidence-based practices that prioritize patient safety and outcomes

PTIFAT’s Level 1 – 4 training programs meet and exceed the FETAP standard, offering dentists the confidence, tools, and support they need to successfully integrate Botox, filler and medical aesthetic treatments into their practice.

Training Now Available in Quebec

We are excited to announce that PTIFAT’s accredited Botox and filler training programs are now available in Montreal, as well as other key cities across Canada (see all dates here). Dentists can begin with Level 1 (online) and progress through to hands-on clinical training in Levels 2 and 3.

Courses are available in both English and French, supporting the ODQ’s requirements and FETAP standards.

A New Era for Dental Practice in Quebec

We’re incredibly proud to have helped pave the way for this change and to continue supporting dentists across Canada in becoming leaders in facial aesthetics and therapeutics.
