Botox and Filler Training Approved by BCCOHP for BC Dentists

British Columbia dentists are uniquely positioned to offer Botulinum Toxin (Botox®) for both therapeutic and aesthetic patient care, as well as dermal fillers. With approval from the British Columbia College of Oral Health Practitioners (BCCOHP), dentists in BC are authorized to administer facial injectables—provided they receive appropriate, accredited training.

This represents a major opportunity for Vancouver and dentists across BC to complete Botox training and confidently expand their scope of practice using evidence-based, anatomy-driven approaches to facial aesthetics and therapeutics.

What Does This Mean for Dentists in BC?

Dentists in BC can offer Botox® and dermal filler treatments for a wide range of clinical and cosmetic applications—such as managing bruxism, TMD, facial pain, and migraines, as well as enhancing facial aesthetics—so long as they have completed recognized, competency-based training aligned with professional standards of care.

This puts BC dentists at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare, allowing them to meet rising patient demand while elevating the quality of care they provide.

Why FETAP?

The Facial Esthetic Therapeutics Anatomy Protocol (FETAP) Standard of Practice was co-developed by Dr. Roberts to establish a clear and consistent framework for injectable education and patient care. FETAP emphasizes:

  • Deep anatomical knowledge of the face
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning for both aesthetic and therapeutic cases
  • Hands-on clinical experience and mentorship
  • Evidence-based practices that prioritize safety, outcomes, and ethics

PTIFAT’s Level 1–4 training programs are built around the FETAP Standard and go beyond the minimum requirements—giving BC dentists the tools, confidence, and clinical competency to safely integrate Botox® and dermal fillers into their practice.

As a PTIFAT graduate, your training will exceed the FETAP Standard—delivering the highest level of patient care through advanced anatomy-based education, evidence-driven protocols, and unmatched clinical mentorship.
