DAY 2 (SATURDAY) – CLINICAL HANDS-ON
Team MembersTeam Members/Auxiliary Staff are any non-injector related office support staff of your practice. Ie: office managers, receptionists, chair-side assistants, medical assistants, hygienists, estheticians, etc. The courses at PTIFA are geared for complete practice integration and so we offer separate training courses specifically for your Team Members to learn the clinical integration and marketing. begin the day with a review of the Patient Questionnaire on pain/headache/migraines as well as a detailed explanation of the PTIFA platysma band and it's relevance to TMD. They will then learn about the importance and use of EMG's, including placement, recordings, photographs of EMG"EMG" stands for electromyograph - a device PTIFA incorporates for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles when treating myofascial pain patients. Botulinum Toxin (aka Botox/Dysport) has become a recognized treatment for craniofacial pain and TMD, however many practitioners are unaware of the importance of incorporating EMG analytics to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes. In the Level 2 and Level 3 course, you will learn how EMG data is used to improve patient care by assisting with the diagnosis, dosage determination and injection timing using botulinum toxin. placements and markings, and post-op instructions.
The afternoon portion of the day will focus on hands-on training utilizing the EMG's on therapeutic patients, as well as assisting as assisting with the specific photographs and syringe preparation for models having aesthetic treatment in the mid-face, lower-face & neck.
