This advanced facial dermal filler course reviews the anatomy, the extra-oral/intra-oral and tri-bolous injection techniques for maxillary cheek augmentation and increasing temporal and chin volume using the cannula technique. Treatments and results of cases from Level 1 through 4 will be reviewed and presented in combination with dermal fillers to complete the 3D analysis and rejuvenation of lost volume to yield predictable results.

Level 5 includes an online component (8 hrs), plus an extensive one-day clinical session held in Vancouver, BC.

Online Didactic

The online portion of Level 5 includes five sections:

  1. Advanced Applications to Dermal Fillers
  2. Foundational Concepts
  3. Injection Techniques for Maxillary Cheek Augmentation, as well as Temporal and Chin Volume
  4. Clinical Techniques including Cannula
  5. Complications

Clinical Session

The clinical portion of Level 5 includes a one-day hands-on session always held on Saturday.

 

Day 1 (Saturday) - Clinical Hands-on

The clinical session will provide the opportunity to watch a live demonstration and then allow you to inject dermal filler using advanced techniques on your own patient models. Each practitioner must provide at least one patient model for treatment (multiple patients is highly recommended).

 

Objectives

  1. Describe the aging process and the integration of the multi-treatment modalities including botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, lasers and cosmeceuticals.
  2. Describe how botulinum toxin can augment filler treatment & how it can decrease the amount of filler required and enhance the longevity of treatment.
  3. Identify a team oriented 3D analysis and injection set-up protocol.
  4. Describe how the initial diagnosis is critical to presenting the multi-treatment rejuvenation options to the patient.
  5. Treatment plan with dermal filler for maxillary cheek augmentation, cheektemporal volume and chin volume using the cannula technique for volume.

Format & CE/CME

Level 5 includes an online didactic 16 CE/CME (8 hours with an exam) and 1-day of clinical hands-on (8 hours).

Are botulinum toxin/dermal fillers approved by my college?
PTIFA trains dentist, physicians, nurses, naturopaths and pharmacists from across the world. The scope of practice varies with the jurisdiction. We recommend you check with your local licensing body for guidelines prior to registering for the courses.
Do you have travel & hotel recommendations for coming to Vancouver?
Upon confirmation of your registration, you will be emailed a “Welcome Package” which has travel information including flight recommendations and corporate rates available at nearby hotels.

Understand which dermal filler cases benefit from the use of micro-cannulas to reduce negative side effects (bruising, swelling, pain).

Understand how you can stimulate collagen production using a blunt-tip cannula.

Understand how to improve patient care with dermal filler in the temporal, infra-orbital, cheeks, frontalis, mandibular and neck areas.

Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Level 4 is required, plus proficiency using the Level 4 injection techniques (20 cases is a suggested recommendation).

Requirements: At least one patient model (several models are recommended), current copy of your license and malpractice insurance is required.

Fees:

  • Practitioner Tuition (Dentist, Physician, Nurse): $3,800
  • Team Member Tuition (Auxiliary Staff): $799
  • Patient Model: Practitioners are responsible for the fees of their patient model(s) they provide at the course.
