We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that our hands-on courses will be resuming later this month in June. In light of the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, like everyone, PTIFA has had to adapt and make a number of changes to the course format that will affect the overall program. We have included some of the key changes below, however further details will be provided upon registration. We are confident that the courses will be even more intimate, and that you will still receive an unprecedented clinical experience in a safe and controlled environment.

Courses Resuming with Reduced # of Attendees

The Level 2 course held at the University of British Columbia’s Patterson Dental Learning Centre will be resuming, but with a significantly reduced number of attendees. Our next Level 2 course is June 26/27, however you can see all dates here. Each course is currently limited to a maximum of ten practitioners, and the concurrent Team Training will be temporarily postponed. We still recognize the importance and the benefit for you to cross-train your entire team. As such, the lecture component of the Level 2 - Team Training will now be offered as an enhanced online course called - the Business & Clinical Integration of BoNT-A (7 CE). We highly recommend that you register your team for this course as it will allow your office to provide the highest level of patient care and help you successfully integrate treatment.

PPE Protocols & COVID Screening

Complete PPE will be provided for each practitioner, including: masks, face shields, gloves and gowns.  Prior to entering the course each morning, every person (including practitioners, staff, Instructors, patients, etc.) will be asked to complete a COVID screening form.

Social Distancing & Sanitization Protocols

The clinic at UBC has a generous amount of space and can easily accommodate our intimate group. Each operatory has chairs in excess of 2m. In addition to our standard protocols for turning over and cleaning the operatories, we will have a dedicated team member who will be providing additional sterilizing and sanitizing areas throughout the clinic each hour. Our protocols will exceed exceed the requirements laid out by the Provincial Health Officer, the BC Centre for Disease Control, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC), the College of Physicians of BC and WorkSafeBC.

COVID-19 Attendance Policy

For the safety of our Instructors, our Team, our attendees, patients and our community, we are asking that practitioners do not attend the course if they are having any of the following symptoms of COVID-19: fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, aches and pains, diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell or any flu-like symptoms. We will reschedule you without penalty and provide the opportunity to attend another course date after your 14-day self-quarantine has been completed. We recommend that practitioners from out of the province ensure they check-in in regards to any travel requirements/restrictions prior to registering.

Next Steps

We look forward to welcoming you back safely to the PTIFA courses! Should you have any questions or feedback, please contact us at [email protected] Please find the upcoming course dates in the course calendar. Should you see a date that works for your schedule, we recommend registering sooner rather than later as we have a reduced number of seats available in each course.
